BIG IDEA:

A Healthy Heart Left Unattended Will Become Unhealthy!

Proverbs 4:23 (NKJV)

Keep your heart with all diligence,
For out of it spring the issues of life.

Mark 12:30-31 (NIV)

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”

Ephesians 1:18-19 (NIV)

…that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength

He prayed 3 things:

  1. You might know the hope of your calling.
  2. You might know your ruches in the saints.
  3. You might know the great power in Christ.

My outlook on life will be determined by 2 questions:

1. Who is God?

2. Who am I?

Numbers 13:1-2 (NIV)

The LORD said to Moses, “Send some men to explore the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the Israelites. From each ancestral tribe send one of its leaders.”

Numbers 13:17-20 (NIV)

When Moses sent them to explore Canaan, he said, “Go up through the Negev and on into the hill country. See what the land is like and whether the people who live there are strong or weak, few or many. What kind of land do they live in? Is it good or bad? What kind of towns do they live in? Are they unwalled or fortified? How is the soil? Is it fertile or poor? Are there trees in it or not? Do your best to bring back some of the fruit of the land.” (It was the season for the first ripe grapes.)

Numbers 13:27-28 (NIV)

They gave Moses this account: “We went into the land to which you sent us, and it does flow with milk and honey! Here is its fruit. But the people who live there are powerful, and the cities are fortified and very large. We even saw descendants of Anak there.

Numbers 13:31 (NIV)

But the men who had gone up with him said, “We can’t attack those people; they are stronger than we are.”

Numbers 13:33 (NIV)

We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.”

Some Principles of Identity:

1. What we think about ourselves (our identity) is more powerful than our concept of God.

2. Whenever a behavior or circumstance becomes part or your identity, you will keep that behavior in your life.

3. When you see yourself as weak and victimized (Grasshopper Mentality), you will submit to problems in your life and allow them to overtake you.

4 Things To Change Your Identity:

1. You must change your language.

Numbers 13:26 (NIV)

They came back to Moses and Aaron and the whole Israelite community at Kadesh in the Desert of Paran. There they reported to them and to the whole assembly and showed them the fruit of the land.

2. Make plans to succeed.

Numbers 13:30 (NIV)

Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.”

3. Disconnect from negative relationships.

Numbers 13:31 (NIV)

But the men who had gone up with him said, “We can’t attack those people; they are stronger than we are.”

4. You have to be willing to process the development necessary to go to the next level.

Numbers 13:32 (NIV)

And they spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, “The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size.
