I. Facing a
, Serious Matter
Ephesians 2:1 “And you were dead in the trespasses and sins”
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
James 2:10 “For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become accountable for all of it.”
Ephesians 2:2 “in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience—”
A. The Unholy Trinity
1. The
Ephesians 2:2a “in which you once walked, following the course of this world… ”

Ephesians 2:2b “… following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience”

Ephesians 2:3a “among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind …”

Ephesians 2:3b “… and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.”
Romans 5:12 “Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned”

Psalm 14:3 “They have all turned aside; together they have become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one.”
Romans 3:10b-12 “None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God. All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.”
II. But God … (Two Words that Changed Everything!)
Ephesians 2:4-5 “But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved”
Romans 5:8 “but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us”
A. Paying Our Unpayable
Matthew 18:23-24 “Therefore the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who wished to settle accounts with his servants. When he began to settle, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents.”
Matthew 18:27 “And out of pity for him, the master of that servant released him and forgave him the debt.”
Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”
B. Breathing Life Into Our
(Ezekial 37:7-10)
Ezekial 37:1-2 “The hand of the LORD was upon me, and he brought me out in the Spirit of the LORD and set me down in the middle of the valley; it was full of bones. And he led me around among them, and behold, there were very many on the surface of the valley, and behold, they were very dry.”
Ezekial 37:3 “And he said to me, ‘Son of man, can these bones live?’ And I answered, ‘O Lord GOD, you know.’”
Ezekial 37:4 “Then he said to me, ‘Prophesy over these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.”
Ezekial 37:5-6 “Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live. And I will lay sinews upon you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live, and you shall know that I am the LORD.”
Ezekial 37:12b “I will open your graves and raise you from your graves, O my people. And I will bring you into the land of Israel.”
C. Raising Us from Death to
Ephesians 2:6 “and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus”
D. Giving Us the Immeasurable Riches of His Grace
Ephesians 2:7 “so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.”
