Matthew 6:9-10
This, then, is how you should pray:
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.

Key Idea 1: We pray to honor God and

with His will.

Matthew 6:11-13
Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.

Key Idea 2: We pray that God would meet our physical and

needs.

Key Idea 3: We pray for God’s ultimate victory and the

from temptation and evil for his people.

By giving us this prayer, then Jesus invites us to walk ahead into the darkness and discover that it, too, belongs to God…when the darkness breaks it will be glory itself that wakes [and] the hope and promise that God will triumph over fear, will deliver us from evil, and will bring in his Kingdom at last. —N.T.
