Main Idea:

The Holy Spirit is our Helper.

He helps us morally live like Jesus.

1. Jesus left us the Holy Spirit to be our Helper.

John 14:16-18
The Holy Spirit
16 I will ask the Father, and He will give you another [g]Helper, so that He may be with you forever; 17 the Helper is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him; but you know Him because He remains with you and will be in you. 18 “I will not leave you as orphans; I am coming to you NASB

John 16:7
But I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I am leaving; for if I do not leave, the [e]Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. NASB

2. Jesus tells us what His role in our world will be.

John 16:7-11
7 But I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I am leaving; for if I do not leave, the [e]Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. 8 And He, when He comes, will convict (convince) the world regarding sin, and righteousness, and judgment: 9 regarding sin, because they do not believe in Me; 10 and regarding righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you no longer are going to see Me; 11 and regarding judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged. NASB

1. Convicts Of Sin

IE. Convince the world they are separated from God.

2. Convicts Of Righteousness

IE. Convince the world that rightness can ONLY come from Jesus…who has died on the cross, rose again, and gone to the father on our behalf.

3. Convicts Of Judgment

IE. Convince the world the enemy has been defeated and he no longer has a hold on them.

Main Idea:

The Holy Spirit is our Helper.

He helps us morally live like Jesus.

So how do I let Him help me?
Practice listening to His voice.
