Having the Wrong Image of God, or worshipping God as you imagine Him to be in your own mind, both produce a false & displeasing worship of God.

“The Bible is God’s Word to you. The Holy Spirit honors & uses God’s Word in speaking to you. The Scriptures will be your source of authority for faith & practice. You cannot depend on traditions, your experience or the experience of others to be accurate authorities on God’s will & ways. Experience & tradition must always be examined against the teaching of Scripture.” “Exp God” Workbook Page 9

1. Remove All Distractions – In our quest to get as much done as we can, we multi-task - from web browsing, checking emails, replying, working, talking on the phone, fiddling with our phones, texting on our phones, writing in our notebooks….
∙ So when God approaches us to talk, it’s natural we just add Him to the list of things we’re doing at the moment, instead of giving Him our full attention.

“Worship is the strategy by which we interrupt our preoccupation with ourselves and attend to the presence of God. Worship is the time and place that we assign for deliberate attentiveness to God – not because He is confined to time and place but because our self-importance is so insidiously relentless that if we don’t deliberately interrupt ourselves regularly, we have no chance of attending to Him at all at other times and in other places.”
