We Are Children
Romans 8:16-17 ESV

The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him. —Romans 8:16-17 ESV
It teaches us, those who believe, that we are rightfully called children of God!
Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. —Philippians 2:12-13
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace (undeserved favor), 8 which he lavished (generously and extravagantly gave) upon us, in all wisdom and insight 9 making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ 10 as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth. —Ephesians 1:7-10
For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. —Romans 8:13-14
For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death. 11 For see what earnestness this godly grief has produced in you, but also what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what longing, what zeal, what punishment! At every point you have proved yourselves innocent in the matter. —2 Corinthians 7:10-11
For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”
—Romans 8:15
PSALM 51:5
New Living Translation (NLT): “For I was born a sinner— yes, from the moment my mother conceived me.”
The Message (MSG): “I’ve been out of step with you for a long time, in the wrong since before I was born.”
Christian Standard Bible (CSB): “Indeed, I was guilty [when I] was born; I was sinful when my mother conceived me.”
Remember, oh child of God, that even though you are an heir now, you were once a slave of hell! —Charles Spurgeon
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, 4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. —Ephesians 1:3-4
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. —Romans 8:1
…by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, 4 in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
—Romans 8:3b-4
…and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him. —Romans 8:17
