3 Ways Jesus Meets Us In Our Need

1. Jesus encourages those who trust Him to bring

of our needs to God and experience his complete desire and ability to provide.

Matthew 7:7-8
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
1 John 5:14
This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.

2. Jesus desires for us to find in the midst of our need through knowing that God will provide for us according to His kindness as our loving Father.
Matthew 7:9-11
Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

3. Because of the abundant of Jesus, we have an opportunity to share the generous love of God with others.

Matthew 7:12
So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

Discussion Questions:
1. Can you share about a time in your life when you had a pressing need (physical, emotional, or spiritual) and someone provided you with help or support in a meaningful way? What happened? How did this impact you?
2. Read Matt. 7:7-8. Jesus talks here about how we can ask God to meet our material needs, seek Him for direction, or turn to Him with our desire for closeness. In which of these areas would you most like to grow in your own prayer life and why?
3. Read verses 9-11. What resonates with you most profoundly about the illustration Jesus shares in these verses? How does this make you feel?
4. Read verse 12. Can you think of any ways this verse could be put into action in your own life based on last week’s teaching about avoiding judgementalism as well as our teaching this week?
5. What needs can we be praying about for you this week?
