Education is almost always seen as a good thing, but is it really as valuable as we think?

SOLOMON’S EXPERIENCE

Pursued wisdom: “I attained wisdom, but it only brought sorrow and grief.”

Initially, Solomon saw wisdom as the path that led to fulfillment and joy. (Proverbs 16:16, 1 Kings 3:5-12)

When Solomon drifted away from the Lord, wisdom became a dead end.

OUR “MODERN” EXPERIENCE

During “The Enlightenment” wisdom becomes an end in itself.

There is no correlation between education and happiness.

LESSONS FOR US:

Don’t fall into the ditch of thinking “Ignorance is bliss.”

Make it your goal to grow in godly wisdom. (James 1:5, Psalm 19:7-11)

More important than godly wisdom is knowing the Lord. (Jeremiah 9:23-24)

May we grow to know the Lord better each day
