What song is playing in your heart?

Is it a song of praise, a love song to Jesus for all He’s done?
Or is it the sound of struggle, pain, and sorrow?
Is it a ballad of victory through grace?
Or an emo expression of a self focused life?

Isaiah 14:13-14 (NKJV)
For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.’

Malachi 1:1-5 (NKJV)
The burden of the word of the LORD to Israel by Malachi. “I have loved you,” says the LORD. “Yet you say, ‘In what way have You loved us?’[Was] not Esau Jacob’s brother?” Says the LORD. “Yet Jacob I have loved; But Esau I have hated, And laid waste his mountains and his heritage For the jackals of the wilderness.”

Genesis 25:21-34 (NKJV)
Now Isaac pleaded with the LORD for his wife, because she [was] barren; and the LORD granted his plea, and Rebekah his wife conceived. But the children
struggled together within her; and she said, “If [all is] well, why [am I like] this?” So she went to inquire of the LORD. And the LORD said to her: “Two nations [are] in your womb, Two peoples shall be separated from your body; [One]people shall be stronger than the other, And the older
shall serve the younger.” So when her days were fulfilled [for her] to give birth, indeed [there were] twins in her womb. And the first came out red. [He was] like a hairy garment all over; so they called his name Esau.Afterward his brother came out, and his hand took hold of Esau’s heel; so
his name was called Jacob. Isaac [was] sixty years old when. So the boys grew. And Esau was a skillful hunter, a man of the field; but Jacob was a mild man, dwelling in tents. And Isaac loved Esau because he ate [of his] game, but Rebekah loved Jacob. Now Jacob cooked a stew; and Esau came in from the field, and he [was] weary. And Esau said to Jacob, “Please feed me with that same red [stew], for I [am] weary.”Therefore his name was called Edom. But Jacob said, “Sell me your birthright as of this day.” And Esau said,
“Look, I [am] about to die; so what [is] this birthright to me?” Then Jacob said, “Swear to me as of this day.” So he swore to him, and sold his birthright to Jacob. And Jacob gave Esau bread and stew of lentils; then he ate and drank, arose, and went his way. Thus Esau despised [his]
birthright.

Romans 9:10-16 (NKJV)
And not only [this], but when Rebecca also had conceived by one man, [even] by our father Isaac (for [the children] not yet being born, nor having done
any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works but of Him who calls), it was said to her, “The older shall serve the younger.” As it is written, “Jacob I have loved, but Esau I have hated.” What shall we say then? [Is there] unrighteousness with God?
Certainly not! For He says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion.” So then [it is] not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy.

Malachi 1:1-4 (NKJV)
The burden of the word of the LORD to Israel by Malachi. “I have loved you,” says the LORD. “Yet you say, ‘In what way have You loved us?’ [Was] not Esau
Jacob’s brother?” Says the LORD. “Yet Jacob I have loved; But Esau I have hated, And laid waste his mountains and his heritage For the jackals of the wilderness.” Even though Edom (Esau’s people) has said, “We have been impoverished, But we will return and build the desolate places,” Thus says the LORD of hosts: “They may build, but I will throw down; They shall be called the Territory of Wickedness, And the people against whom the LORD will
have indignation forever.

Obadiah 1:1-4 (NKJV)
The vision of Obadiah. Thus says the Lord GOD concerning Edom (We have heard a report from the LORD, And a messenger has been sent among the nations, [saying], “Arise, and let us rise up against her for battle”): “Behold, I will make you small among the nations; You shall be greatly despised. The pride of your heart has deceived you, [You] who dwell in the clefts of the rock, Whose habitation is high; [You] who say in your heart, ‘Who will bring me down to the ground?’ Though you ascend [as] high as the eagle, And though you set your nest among the stars, From there I will bring you down,” says the LORD.

James 4:6 (NKJV)
“But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”“

Malachi 3:13-15 (NKJV)
Your words have been harsh against Me,” Says the LORD, “Yet you say, ‘What have we spoken against You?’ You have said, ‘It is useless to serve God; What profit is it that we have kept His ordinance, And that we have walked as mourners Before the LORD of hosts? So now we call the proud blessed, For those who do wickedness are raised up; They even tempt God and go free.’

Malachi 3:16-18 (NKJV)
“Then those who feared the LORD spoke to one another, And the LORD listened and heard them; So a book of remembrance was written before Him For those who fear the LORD And who meditate on His name. “They shall be Mine,” says the LORD of hosts, “On the day that I make them My jewels. And I will spare them As a man
spares his own son who serves him.” Then you shall again discern Between the righteous and the wicked, Between one who serves God And one who does not serve Him.”
