Luke 11:14,21-22 KJV
11 And he was casting out a devil, and it was dumb. AND IT CAME TO PASS, WHEN THE DEVIL WAS GONE OUT, THE DUMB SPAKE; and the people wondered.
21 When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace:
ARMED: equip fully with armor:
KEEPETH: to guard a person or thing that he may remain safe, to keep from being snatched away, to guard from being lost or perishing.
GOODS: possessions, goods, wealth, property
PEACE: a state of national tranquility, exemption from the rage and havoc of war.
22 BUT WHEN A STRONGER THAN HE SHALL COME UPON HIM, AND OVERCOME HIM, HE TAKETH FROM HIM ALL HIS ARMOUR WHEREIN HE TRUSTED, AND DIVIDETH HIS SPOILS.
STRONGER: mightier, “engaging, combative strength” – mighty, strong. For the believer, is God’s power “standing by” – ready to unleash itself to bring about His preferred-will, through faith.
COME UPON HIM: of the Holy Spirit, descending and operating in one.
OVERCOME: to conquer, to carry off the victory, to come off victorious.
TAKETH: to take away from another what is his or what is committed to him, to take by force.
ALL HIS ARMOUR: full armor, complete armour, includes shield, sword, lance, helmet, greaves, and breastplate.
DIVIDETH: to give throughout a crowd that is deal out, to distribute, to divide among several.
SPOILS: booty, the weapons and valuables stripped off from an enemy.
Luke 10:17-19 KJV
17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
