1 Corinthians 16:8-9
But I will remain in Ephesus until Pentecost; for a wide door for effective service has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.
2 Timothy 4:2
Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction.
1 Peter 3:15 a
but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you
Isaiah 55:6
Seek the LORD while He may be found;
Call upon Him while He is near.
Colossians 4:2-6
Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving; praying at the same time for us as well, that God will open up to us a door for the word, so that we may speak forth the mystery of Christ, for which I have also been imprisoned; that I may make it clear in the way I ought to speak. Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity. Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person.
Acts 14:27
When they had arrived and gathered the church together, they began to report all things that God had done with them and how He had opened a door of faith to the Gentiles.
1 Corinthians 16:8-9
But I will remain in Ephesus until Pentecost; for a wide door for effective service has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.
Opportunity Is Not Without Opposition
Numbers 13:25-31
When they returned from spying out the land, at the end of forty days, they proceeded to come to Moses and Aaron and to all the congregation of the sons of Israel in the wilderness of Paran, at Kadesh; and they brought back word to them and to all the congregation and showed them the fruit of the land. Thus they told him, and said, “We went in to the land where you sent us; and it certainly does flow with milk and honey, and this is its fruit. Nevertheless, the people who live in the land are strong, and the cities are fortified and very large; and moreover, we saw the descendants of Anak there. Amalek is living in the land of the Negev and the Hittites and the Jebusites and the Amorites are living in the hill country, and the Canaanites are living by the sea and by the side of the Jordan.” Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses and said, “We should by all means go up and take possession of it, for we will surely overcome it.” But the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are too strong for us.”
1 Thessalonians 2:2 b
We had the boldness in our God to speak to you the gospel of God amid much opposition.
The door represents an opportunity, and the opportunity represents a test.
The door of opportunity leads to other doors of opportunity.
Luke 16:10
“He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much; and he who is unrighteous in a very little thing is unrighteous also in much.
Luke 12:48 b
From everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more.
