  1. Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged, or confused you?

2. Review verses 15, 21, 23, and 24. If we truly love Jesus, what should be true/evident in our lives? In what ways can we demonstrate our love for Jesus? What changes in our relationship with Him should/will this produce?

3. Based on the verses from today’s study, what were some of the disciples’ fears? (In what ways do you have similar fears?) How did Jesus address these fears? How might we respond differently to the fears we face?

4. Look at verse 26 (especially the second half). What is the one most important thing the Holy Spirit will help us do? Why is this the one most important thing??

5. In verse 27, Jesus promised to give them His peace. He said, “not as the world gives do I give to you.” In what ways is Jesus’ giving (of anything) different than the way the world gives? In light of giving, how should we as Christ-followers model Jesus in our interaction with other people?

6. When Jesus spoke the words contained in this chapter, He was a few hours away from dying on the cross. What was His mindset as He approached His death (verse 31)? What does our mindset tend to be when we face trials and challenges? In what ways can we take on Christ’s mindset? (Review 1 Corinthians 2:16b and Philippians 2:1-8.)
