Read Matthew 23:1-12 and focus on the differences between the Pharisees and the disciples.
-Verses 1-4 talk about the burden of more effort. Do you find that your faith in Jesus exhausts you or energizes you? Why?
-Verses 5-7 talk about the selfishness nature of religion, rather than the self-giving nature of relationship. How can an “it’s not about me” attitude fuel your relationship with Jesus?
-Verses 8-10 talk about the call to Jesus and being his disciple. When you discover Jesus how does it change your identity?
