Everyday Jesus 10.2.22
October 2, 2022

Everyday Jesus: Everyday Jesus is a great way to deepen your Bible reading, prayer life & personal time with Christ.

Monday: Read 1:1-4; 2:1-5, 8-11,14-18; 3:1-6, 12-14, 16-18; 4:1-3, 6, 8-11; 14-16. 7:11-8:6. These are a summary of verses which point to the superiority of Christ. They remind us, people have always tried to relate to Christ rationally, through their own understanding. The message of Hebrews is that every way we think of Christ He is above them all. Today, read and meditate on Christ’s superiority above everything else.
Tuesday: Read Hebrews 4:14-16, Heb 10:19, Eph 3:12, 2 Cor 3:4. Since then we have a Great High Priest…Let us then with confidence/boldness draw near…In the OT, access to God was restricted, now in Christ we boldly come to God. Today, come boldly to God in prayer based on conviction of who He is to you.
Wednesday: [Day of Fasting] Read Hebrews 4:14-16, 7:19, 25, Eph 4:7, John 1:14-18. The confidence we have in Christ could work in any area of life, but is specifically to come to His throne of Unmerited Favor - Grace. God has a throne that His people can come to because of Christ’s priesthood. Today, boldly go to God’s throne of Grace.
Thursday: Read Hebrews 4:14-16 By drawing to God’s throne of Grace, we receive Mercy. Mercy is God’s compassion toward us so that we don’t receive the wrath we deserve. Grace and Mercy often are spoken of and go hand in hand. Today thank God for the ability to receive Grace and Mercy, all because of Christ your Great High Priest.
Friday: Read Hebrews 4:14-16 Along with mercy we receive grace to help. There are many forms of help available in the world. But, the idea of help available through Christ is that of medical aid or cure. God’s gracious, unmerited favor, cures. Today, pray asking God for grace that helps.
• Saturday: Read Hebrews 4:14-16 At God’s throne of grace we receive Mercy, Grace to Help in time of Need. The time of need is not a limited or specific time of 911 rather during time of emergency or time of calm, the time of need for God’s grace and mercy is always there. Draw near to God’s throne in your time of need - now.
