Romans 13:8-10

We have an obligation to love

Love is not an option for the believer. Paul says that we are in debt to love, we are obligated to love people. In loving people we fulfill the law.

Who is my neighbor?

When we look at the story of the good Samaritan in Luke 10:25-37 we see Jesus calls us to love our neighbor. Our neighbor is anyone that is in need.

Love does no harm

In order to love our neighbors and not do them harm, we must deny ourselves. We must make sacrifices so that those we are called to love can receive that love. We must look out for their best interest. Let’s seek not to do harm to our neighbors.

In view of God’s mercy

Our own view of what the Lord has done in our lives propels us to love others. We love because Jesus first loved us.
