OUR INVESTOR || DEUTERONOMY 8:11-18
SUBTLE DANGERS OF WEALTH
Our prosperity can become so intoxicating that we eventually don’t really need God because we have more than we need. We may not admit that but we live our lives as if that were true. We then live for the things of this world which then push God out of our lives.
“‘I tell you the truth, it is very hard for a
person to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. I’ll say it again—it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the of God!’” —Matthew 19:23-24 (NLT)
REMEMBER GOD - OUR INVESTOR
Moses then challenges the Israelites to not forget, to remember all that God has done to bring about the great wealth that they have. Therefore, to make sure that wealth and prosperity do not slowly erode our relationship with God and pride then takes over our lives it is important for us to simply stop and take time to look back over our lives and remember all that God has done for us.
“The earth is the
, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it;” —Psalm 24:1 (NLT)
“
the Kingdom of God above , and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” —Matthew 6:33 (NLT)
