“If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” —Luke 9:23 | NIV84

Brothers and sisters, I could not address you as people who live by the Spirit but as people who are still worldly. —1 Corinthians 3:1 | NIV

“Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” —John 13:34-35 | NLT

We’re a people marked by God’s love.

We love because he first loved us. —1 John 4:19 | NIV84

God shows us what “love” really looks like.

And now I will show you the most excellent way. If I speak in the languages of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. —1 Corinthians 12:31-13:3

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. —1 Corinthians 13:4-8 | NIV84
