Everyday Jesus Notes 8.21.22
August 20, 2022

Everyday Jesus: Everyday Jesus is a great way to deepen your Bible reading, prayer life & personal time with Christ.

• Monday: Read Revelation 3:1-6 The city of Sardis sat on a high hill, worshipped a fictitious god of nature and was so arrogant they often forgot to have a guard on duty. The church in Sardis had also fallen asleep and become complacent in their relationship with the Lord. Today, ask the Lord where any part of your relationship with Him has become complacent.
• Tuesday: Read Revelation 3:1-6 Christ reveals Himself to this church as the One whom has or offers the Holy Spirit and holds the angels of churches in His hand. Where they relied on their reputation among people, Christ offered them a true, full relationship with Him that’s greater than a relationship with people. Meditate on your relationship with the Lord, what’s been more important to you, how people see you or how Christ sees you?
• Wednesday: [Day of Fasting] Read Revelation 3:1-6, Lk 15:11-32 {v24}. Being dead throughout Scripture refers to sin & separation from Christ. Yet as in Rev 3:2 He invites us to “Wake up” and surrender to a course of strengthening what’s left, because their works are incomplete in God’s sight: What areas of your relationship with Christ have died and you now need to wake up and be strengthened?
• Thursday: Read Revelation 3:1-6, 1 Cor 3:18-23, Isa 5:21, Gal 6:3; [Self-Exam] 2 Cor 13:5, Ps 139:23-24. This church was self-deceived as they rested on a reputation that didn’t align with what Christ knew about them. Let’s not be self deceived, Lord show me the truth of who I am
• Friday: Read Revelation 3:1-6 Remember what you received and heard of/from Christ. Keep what you have heard and repent. Time and circumstance can lead us to points and places of complacency. Ask the Lord to renew, reignite your full attention so that it’s on Christ alone.
• Saturday: Through their relationship with Christ, those that overcome are the ones that walk unsoiled through this life. Therefore, at the end of their life, He will clothe them in white garments, He will keep their name eternally in the Book of Life and Christ will confess their name before God and the angels. Wow. Ask God to wake you up and strengthen you so that you can walk unsoiled in this life now and be presented before God at the end of your life.
