The good news of the gospel…
God sent His own Son to earth as the man Jesus to solve the problem of sin. He lived a sinless life of perfect obedience to God, so He could die in our place as the perfect sacrifice for our sin.
1. Sin is real.
Everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. —Romans 3:23
2. God is real.
Christ Jesus was shown to be the Son of God when He was raised from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit. —Romans 1:4
3. Judgment is real.
“He has set a day when He will judge the world with justice by the Man He has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising Him from the dead.” —Luke 17:31
4. The gospel is real.
This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when He held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, for He was looking ahead and including them in what He would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate His righteousness, for He is fair and just, and He declares sinners to be right in His sight when they believe in Jesus. —Romans 3:25,26
THE GREAT EXCHANGE
God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God. —2 Corinthians 5:21
5. Forgiveness is real.
