Part 4 - Made for Revival.

  • Be revived, and become revival, so others can be revived.

Part 5 - Made for Prayer.

In return for my love they are my accusers, But I give myself to prayer. —Psalms 109:4

  • I will pray until I become prayer itself.

12 Then he dreamed, and behold, a

was set up on the earth, and its top reached to heaven; and there the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. 16 Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I did not know it.” 17 And he was afraid and said, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven!
—Genesis 28:12, 16-17

  • We must set our face towards the Lord and a life of prayer and communion with Him.

My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise. —Psalm 57:7

Your kingdom come. Your will be done. On earth as it is in heaven. —Matthew 6:10

  • Jesus taught that the thing which connected the heavens and the earth is .

If My

who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. —2 Chronicles 7:14

  • We are called to reach first toward

, then toward our city and region.

  • Prayer is the most

activity on the planet for a reason!

1. The house of God is a house of .

Then Jesus went into the temple of God and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves. 13 And He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’ ”14 Then the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple, and He healed them. —Matthew 21:12-14

“For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.” —Isaiah 56:7

  • Their activity was filling a space that God had

and designated for a different purpose.

  • Clutter attracts more clutter until the essential is

    by the meaningless.

2. The early church was born in prayer and in prayer.

These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers. —Acts 1:14

When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. —Acts 2:1-2

And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved. —Acts 2:42, 47

  • We see this repeated through the book of Acts again and again. It’s as divine .

As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said… —Acts 13:2

3. Every revival movement in history was and sustained in prayer.

Josiah was eight years old when he became king, and he reigned thirty-one years in Jerusalem. 2 And he did what was right in the sight of the Lord…3 For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was still young, he began to

the God of his father David; —2 Chronicles 34:1-3
Now before him there was no king like him, who turned to the Lord with all his heart, with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the Law of Moses; nor after him did any arise like him. —2 Kings 23:25

  • Moravian Revival - August 1727
  • Welsh Revival 1905. Born and sustained in prayer.
  • Azusa Street Revival 1906.
  • Argentine Revival 1984 to the present.

4. We are called to the torch of prayer.

Matthew 6:33 - But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
