Proverbs 10:1-32
10:4 | Earning a profit without work is a dream! God’s people should focus on their work (the hand of the diligent) and enjoy the fruits of their labor. Both are gifts from God (Eccl. 2:24-25).
10:9 | Integrity comes from the word integer, which is a whole number in mathematics. Integrity is a mind-set and the willingness to be and do what is whooly and completely right as defined by God, regardless of personal cost or place. Whether in public or in private, there is congruence.
10:17 | Spoiled children often live unproductive lives. Just as good parents exert loving and careful correction on their children, God does the same for His children (Heb. 12:3-11). Discipline is God’s way to lovingly return His sons and daughters to the right path.
10:27 | The one who fears the Lord will act in conformity to His will: the one who does not fear the Lord will ignore His commands. Longer life comes to those who live as God intended.
