CP Group Discussion Questions

  1. Now that CenterPoint Church has finished its Trellis series, what were your thoughts on the series as a whole? Did any particular spiritual discipline (habit) stick out to you? Did you commit to any new personal disciplines from this series?
  2. On Sunday, Mike finished out the series by looking at the importance of Time with God; specifically looking at the gospel accounts where Jesus sought solitude to pray with God the Father. What lessons can we learn from Jesus’ prayer life? (Mark 1:35-38; Luke 6:12-13; Matt. 14:23; Luke 11:1; Matt. 23:26)
  3. Mike mentioned that when we develop the habit of spending time with God, we transition from knowing about God, to knowing God. Why might it be important to distinguish between the two?
  4. Mike closed Sunday’s message with Jesus’ prayer from John 17:3, where he said, “This is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and the one you have sent—Jesus Christ.” In your opinion, what kinds of things hinder a person from truly knowing God?
