Part of Miracle—December 5-26, 2021
December 6, 2021

Series Goals: To go from optimistic thinking to miracle thinking and from impossible thinking to possible thinking with God.

Miracle:  Miracles are God’s powerful interventions of goodness and provisions that cause extraordinary occurrences which interrupt the very laws He has put in place and often defy human logic.

Transcendental: God’s supernatural intervention into life events such as the parting of the Red Sea, Daniel’s in lion’s den, feeding of the 20,000, and resurrection of Lazarus.

Transformational: God’s divine ability to change a person’s character and course, such as grace, mercy, salvation, sanctification, and glorification.

Week 1:  Preparing for A Miracle | Luke 1:5-12

1

on faithfullness even when life is unfair

“In the days of Herod, king of Judea, there was a priest named Zechariah, of the division of Abijah. And he had a wife from the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth. 6 And they were both righteous before God, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and statutes of the Lord. 7 But they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and both were advanced in years.” - — Luke 1:5-7, ESV

2

that God hears my prayers

And there appeared to him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense. 12 And Zechariah was troubled when he saw him, and fear fell upon him. 13 But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zechariah, for your prayer has been heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John.”
Luke 1:11-13, ESV

Revelation 5:8 / CSB, When he took the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and golden bowls filled with incense, which are the prayers of the saints

3.

God’s timing and purpose.

And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth, 15 for he will be great before the Lord. And he must not drink wine or strong drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb. 16 And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God, 17 and he will go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready for the Lord a people prepared.”
Luke 1:14-17, ESV

Psalms 106:2 / NLT, “Who can list the glorious miracles of the Lord? Who can ever praise him enough?”.”
