• Monday: Read Jeremiah 10:1, Dt 6:4-9; 11:13-21; Num 15:37-41. The Great Shema leads to a prayer centered on the very nature of who God is, in the reality of who we are and what we face. Today, read those passages & let them lead you into prayer.
• Tuesday: Read Jeremiah 10:1-16, In 10:1-5 Jeremiah speaks of the vanity of our customs & idol worship. Ask the Lord to show you what you have worshipped that can’t speak, demands your time & attention and really can’t do anything
• Wednesday: {Day of Fasting} Read Jeremiah 10:6-7, Psalms 86. Psalms 86 is so rich in worship! Psalms 86:11 David asks the Lord to teach him His way so he may walk in His truth and to unite His heart (with the Lord) so he may reverence His name. I encourage you to pray that “Teach me your way” prayer in your own words today.
• Thursday: Read Jeremiah 10:1-16 Prov 3:19, Ps 104:5. So many things vie for our attention, but in v8, our substitute places of worship “…are both stupid and foolish”. “But the Lord is the true God”. He alone made the earth by His power, established the world by His wisdom and stretched out the heavens by His understanding. Today in prayer, confess the Lord to be the true God above any and all places of false worship or reliance that we have leaned on.
• Friday: Read Jeremiah 10:1-16, 31:35; 32:18; 50:34. Against all the inept, false promises of our world & culture God alone formed all things and the Lord of Hosts is His name. In Sunday’s message we explained that the Lord of Hosts describes His authority to command every angel. Give thanks to the name of the Lord who commands angels concerning you.
• Saturday: Read Jeremiah 10:1-16 Go back and read this week’s passage: Hear the Word of the Lord louder than the false voices of our idol worship. There is none like the Lord. He alone is the true God. What we worship falsely, didn’t make anything nor do anything. He alone is the Lord of Hosts. Worship the Lord for who He is!
