“Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. And Moses was not able to enter the tent of meeting because the cloud settled on it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. Throughout all their journeys, whenever the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the people of Israel would set out. But if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not set out till the day that it was taken up. For the cloud of the Lord was on the tabernacle by day, and fire was in it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel throughout all their journeys.” —Exodus 40.34-381

“And let them make me a sanctuary, that I may dwell in their midst.” —Exodus 25.8

“My dwelling place shall be with them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.” —Ezekiel 37.27
“I will dwell in their midst forever.” —Ezekiel 43.9
“And many nations shall join themselves to the Lord in that day, and shall be my people. And I will dwell in your midst.” —Zechariah 2.11
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” —John 1.14
“Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.” —Revelation 21.3

BIBLICAL TRUTHS:

  • God wants to be present in my life.
  • God wants to be near me.
  • God wants close relationship with me.
  • God will never give up on me.
  • God has already paid the ultimate price to have restored relationship with me.

GOD’S PRESENCE GOD’S PEOPLE

“Throughout all their journeys, whenever the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the people of Israel would set out. But if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not set out till the day that it was taken up.” —Exodus 40.36-37

GOD’S PRESENCE LEADS US INTO GOD’S

“And because he loved your fathers and chose their offspring after them and brought you out of Egypt with his own presence, by his great power, driving out before you nations greater and mightier than you, to bring you in, to give you the land for an inheritance.” —Deuteronomy 4.37-39

“And there in the presence of the Lord your God, you and your families shall eat and shall rejoice in everything you have put your hand to, because the Lord your God has blessed you.” —Deuteronomy 12.7

THE TO THE PRESENCE

“He set the basin between the tent of meeting and the altar, and put water in it for washing, with which Moses and Aaron and his sons washed their hands and their feet. When they went into the tent of meeting, and when they approached the altar, they washed, as the Lord commanded Moses.” —Exodus 40.30-32

“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” —1 John 1.7-9
