WARM UP: How has your concept of Holiness changed throughout the years?

HEAD: These questions help us examine the Word.
    1. Read 1 Peter 1:13-25 and review the concept of being an Exile. Why did the Apostle Peter use this term?
    2. Did it only apply to first century followers of Christ?
    3. How do you understand the concept of being an Exile/stranger or sojourner as a follower of Christ?

HEART: These questions help us wrestle with what we believe.
    1. Verse 13 points to the concept of a prepared mind. (The sermon example was “gird up the loins of your mind.)” Why is the choice to have a prepared mind/focused mind important as a follower of Christ?
    2. Later in verse 13 is the phrase “set your hope fully” Explore this concept. What does it mean for you to set your hope fully on the grace given you (Sermon example was running a marathon)?

HAND: These questions help us bring truth and beliefs into our everyday life.
    1. Read verse 17 again. Explore two concepts from this verse. Why does Peter mention God as a Father who judges our lifestyle impartially?
    2. What does living for Jesus with reverent fear look like for you?
