MIRACLES ARE MESSY
THE MIRACLE OF WALKING IN STEP WITH THE SPIRIT
If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. —Galatians 5:25
Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. —Galatians 5:25 NIV
Walking in Step with The Spirit is to Have a Companion for the ages
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. —John 14:26
1. The Holy Spirit was there in the beginning of everything.
The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. —Genesis 1:2
2. The Holy Spirit was there at the beginning of me.
34 Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I [a]do not know a man?”
35 And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. —Luke 1:34 - 35
13 For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb.
14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well. —Psalms 139:13 - 14“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you;I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” —Jeremiah 1:5
3. The Holy Spirit speaks God’s identity and approval over me.
21 When all the people were baptized, it came to pass that Jesus also was baptized; and while He prayed, the heaven was opened. 22 And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven which said, “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.”
23 Now Jesus Himself began His ministry at about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, the son of Heli, —Luke 1:21 - 23
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. —Romans 8:14
Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. —1 John 3:1
4. The Holy Spirit will guide me through temptation.
1 Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,
2 being tempted for forty days by the devil. And in those days He ate nothing, and afterward, when they had ended, He was hungry. —Luke 4:1 - 2No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. —1 Corinthians 10:13
5. The Holy Spirit anoints me for my purpose.
18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed;
19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord. —Luke 4:18 - 19> As His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue. —2 Peter 1:3Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us. —Hebrews 12:1
5. The Holy Spirit will resurrect the dead parts of my life.
And declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead. —Romans 1:4
But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies hrough His Spirit who dwells in you. —Romans 8:11
20 Then Elisha died, and they buried him. And the raiding bands from Moab invaded the land in the spring of the year.
21 So it was, as they were burying a man, that suddenly they spied a band of raiders; and they put the man in the tomb of Elisha; and when the man was let down and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived and stood on his feet. —2 Kings 13:20 - 21For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. —John 3:16
