Why did Jesus need to die?

A follow up question, why did Jesus need to die prematurely on a cross?

What happened in the garden?

Our trajectory was changed forever, until Christ Jesus came and redeemed our story.

Reason # 1: God loves you and me, the world.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 (ESV)

Reason # 2: The weight of our sin resulted in the death of innocence.

Reason # 3: Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness for sin.
