Duties Of A Warrior

Introduction

3 Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.
4 Children born to a young man are like arrows in a warrior’s hands.
5 How joyful is the man whose quiver is full of them! —Psalm 127:3-5 (NLT)

The Four Golds Of A Warrior’s Bullseye:

Gold 1.

8 But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. —1 Timothy 5:8 (NKJV)

2 Care for the flock that God has entrusted to you. Watch over it willingly, not grudgingly—not for what you will get out of it, but because you are eager to serve God. 3 Don’t lord it over the people assigned to your care, but lead them by your own good example. —1 Peter 5:2-3 (NLT)

Gold 2.

8 But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. —1 Timothy 5:8 (NKJV)

Gold 3.

1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. —Psalm 91:1 (NKJV)

6 But if you cause one of these little ones who trusts in me to fall into sin, it would be better for you to have a large millstone tied around your neck and be drowned in the depths of the sea. —Matthew 18:6 (NLT)

14 But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.” —Matthew 19:14 (NLT)

4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord. —Ephesians 6:4 (NLT)

17 Discipline your children, and they will give you peace of mind and will make your heart glad. —Proverbs 29:17 (NLT)

Gold 4.

“We teach what we know but we reproduce who we are” —John Maxwell:

2 You have heard me teach things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Now teach these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others. —2 Timothy 2:2 (NLT)

18 “So commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these words of mine. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. 19 Teach them to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. —Deuteronomy 11:18-19 (NLT)

Conclusion

1 Praise the Lord! How joyful are those who fear the Lord and delight in obeying his commands.
2 Their children will be successful everywhere; an entire generation of godly people will be blessed.
3 They themselves will be wealthy, and their good deeds will last forever. —Psalm 112:1-3 (NLT)

My Next Steps:

  1. Seek God about the purpose of the Arrows in my life.
  2. Be intentional about what I am imparting to my Arrows, what am I reproducing?
  3. Commit to bringing the Arrows in my care to Church!
