Welcome

Introit |

Call to Worship (Exodus 19:5)
Leader: The Lord declares: “If you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant,
People: Then we shall be God’s treasure,a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.”
Leader: Let us become the treasure God has created and called us to be!
All: Let us worship the Lord!

Hymn | “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing”

Prayer of Confession (unison)
O, to grace how great a debtor daily I’m constrained to be! We rely upon your grace, Lord, to cover all our sin.Let Thy goodness, like a fetter, bind my wandering heart to Thee. It is your loving kindness that gently draws us in. Prone to wander, Lord I feel it, prone to leave the God I love. Our temptations, never silent, always present, never cease. Here’s my heart, Lord, take and seal it; seal it for Thy courts above.Lord, draw us by your grace into never ending peace.

Silent Prayer

Assurance of Pardon (Romans 5:8)
Leader: Jesus sought us when a stranger, wandering from the fold of God.
People: As Scripture declares:God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Leader: Christ, to rescue us from danger, bought us with his precious blood. In Christ we are forgiven!
People: Thanks be to God.

Gloria Patri

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end, Amen. Amen.

Prayers of the People & The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed by Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil; for Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever, Amen.

Affirmation of Faith (Heidelberg Catechism, Q54-55)
Leader: What do you believe concerning “the holy catholic church”?
All: I believe that the Son of God gathers, protects, and preserves for himself, in the unity of the true faith, a congregation chosen for eternal life from the beginning to the end of the world, and from among the whole human race, by his Spirit and his word. Moreover, I believe that I am and forever will remain a living member of it.

Leader: What do you understand by “the communion of saints”?
All: First, all believers shall share in one fellowship as partakers of the Lord Christ and all his treasures and gifts. Second, each one ought to know that he or she is obliged to use his or her gifts freely and with joy for the benefit and welfare of other members.
