Love for Enemies
43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get?

THE ESSENTIAL FOUNDATION:

The overflow of DAILY DEPOSITS is the fruits of the spirit.

Galatians 5:22-23 ESV

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

John Maxwell: “You cannot DO what I DO, unless you’re willing to DO what I DID.”

Meaning that if you want the marriage and relationships that you want, you must be willing to do the daily deposits.

1. DAILY DEPOSITS:

WHAT INTENTIONAL TIME WITH JESUS CAN LOOK LIKE.
A. Reading The Word
B. Prayer. 2 way street of speaking and then LISTENING
C. Worship

2. LET’S LOOK AT THE PERFECT EXAMPLE: JESUS

He was continually in a prayer mode. Jesus prayed…

alone (Mt 14:23)(Mk 1:35)(Lk 9:18)(Lk 22:39-41),

in public (Jn 11:41-42)(Jn 12:27-30),

before meals (Mt 26:26)(Mk 8:6)(Lk 24:30)(Jn 6:11),

before important decisions (Lk 6:12-13),

before healing – man deaf/mute. Ears/tongue – big sigh Prayer – (efatha) Be opened!
(Mk 7:34-35),

after healing a man with leprosy (Lk 5:16),
to do the Father’s will (Mt 26:36-44),

He also taught on the importance of prayer (Mt 21:22)(Mk 11:24-26)(Mt 7:7-11)(Lk 11:9-13)(Jn 14:13-14)(Jn 15:7,16)(Jn 16:23-24)(Mt 5:44)(Lk 6:27-28)(Mt 6:5-15: including the Lord’s Prayer)(Lk 11:2-4)(Mt 18:19-20).

3. THE CURE

1 THESSALONIANS 5:17

Praying without ceasing is about developing a lifestyle of prayer so that you don’t just get up in the morning and have a planned time of 10 to 20 minutes, and then you don’t pray again until the evening. It is your mindset and focus as you move throughout your day. The goal: Constant communication with God.

THREE CHAIRS

INVITE Him into your conversations.

When you add the third, being aware of His presence, ASKING HIM for direction, insight and then LISTENING, WAITING for His guidance. See the other person through Jesus’ eyes. God Goggles.

What would our World would like to look like if everyone in this room had the mentality and focus that we are truly going to put God in control and allow Him to speak through every conversation to every person we encounter?
