What consistent themes appear in John 1:35-51, and what can we learn about discipleship and evangelism?
Why are personal stories of salvation and change so powerful? What does the example of Little Bilney teach us about evangelism, and how does it inspire our personal witness?
What drew the two disciples of John the Baptist to follow Jesus (vv.35-39)? Why do you think that their interest in Jesus was provoked? In what way does that help us to appreciate how people are drawn to Jesus today?
After Andrew spent a day with Jesus, notice the first thing he did afterwards (vv.40-42). What can we learn from him about the way we should be affected by spending time with Jesus?
Is there at least one person for whose salvation you are praying? Is there anyone in your immediate sphere of influence that you could invite to explore Jesus further through conversation, studying the Bible together, dinner in your home, or some other means? If God gives you an opportunity with this person, what do you plan to do?
