John 13:34
A new command i give you; love one another. As I have loved you, so also love one another. By this everyone will know you are my disciples, if you love one another

4 kinds of love in the Bible:
1. Storge – empathy bond
2. Philia – friend bond
3. Eros – romantic love
4. Agape – unconditional “God” love

1. Agape Love
He loves the unlovable and the unlovely, not because we deserve to be loved or because of any excellence we possess, but because it is His nature to love and He must be true to His nature.

We often love people the way we love things?
• Conditionally
• Half Heartedly
• Conveniently
• Words, not our actions

What Does Love look like?

Colossians 3:12-13
Therefore, as Gods’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear witheach other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

Compassion: Love with all your heart

Humility: Seeing myself as I really am

We hold towels not titles

Gentlesness: Decision to respond to you in light of your strength & weaknesses

My relationship with you is more important than you being impressed by me

Patience: The decision to go the speed of another person

Colossians 3:14

which binds us all together in perfect harmony.
