God purposely chose what the world considers nonsense in order to shame the wise, and He chose what the world considers weak in order to shame the powerful.
This means that no one can boast in God’s presence. By Him we are put right with God; we become God’s holy people and are set free. So then, whoever wants to boast must boast of what the Lord has done.
3. TEHILLÂH
A song of praise.
A
Psalm 40:1-3 NLT
I waited patiently for the Lord to help me,
And He turned to me and heard my cry.

And steadied me as I walked along.
He has given me a new song to sing,
A hymn of praise [tehillâh] to our God.
4. TÔWDÂH
An extension of the hand. Thanksgiving. A sacrifice of praise.
Giving thanks for things not yet
Psalm 56:9-12 GNT
I know this: God is on my side—
The Lord, whose promises I praise.
In Him I trust, and I will not be afraid.
What can a mere human being do to me?
Oh God, I will offer You what I have promised;
I will give you my offering of thanksgiving [tôwdâh].
5. ZÂMAR
To
To touch the strings or parts of a musical instrument.

7. SHÂBACH

Psalm 117:1 NLT
Praise [hâlal] the Lord, all you nations.
Praise [shâbach] Him, all you people of the earth.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade.
Psalm 2:9-10 NIV
…you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
