1. Why do you serve God? Why do you pray? Read your Bible? Sacrifice? Do justice?
2. Does it feel awkward or strange to acknowledge that part of why you serve God is for a heavenly reward?
3. Are you surprised at how much Jesus taught about your reward in heaven?
4. Why is it so tempting to work for “treasures on earth” (acclaim, status, possessions…things that we’ll eventually store in a box in a crawl space!)?
5. What makes it hard to work for rewards that we’ll receive in heaven? Are there benefits now for the things we do in secret (Matthew 6:3-4, 6, 17-18) for God?
6. How does it make you feel to think of Jesus judging you in heaven?
7. Have you previously thought of the idea of our capacity for heaven? How does this idea strike you?
8. How do we live to increase our capacity for Jesus and heaven? What could you do today to further increase this capacity? (23.52-24.20

PRAY

That God will help you look forward to and work for the rewards awaiting you in heaven..
That you will provide truth and encouragement to those around you who aren’t sure what to think about the afterlife.
