Week 4 - GOODBYE INSECURITY


I. INSECURITY LEADS TO (vs 20-21)

A. Insecurity

“When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’s knees and said, “Go away from me, because I’m a sinful man, Lord!” —Luke 5:8

“But when he saw the strength of the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me!” —Matthew 14:30

B. Insecurity

IV. CONFIDENCE COMES FROM OUR TESTIMONY (vs 24-25)

A. Confidence

in the truth we’ve experienced. (v 24)

“Peter and John answered them, “Whether it’s right in the sight of God for us to listen to you rather than to God, you decide; 20for we are unable to stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.” —Acts 4:19-20

B. Confidence

Jesus’ limitless works. (v 25)

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do.” —Ephesians 2:10

Application: Operation Reboot

Start Today:

  1. where comparison is distracting us from our own calling.

  2. our attention on Jesus’ specific words to us.

  3. any misunderstandings we’ve developed about God’s will.

  4. Confidently

    to what we’ve personally experienced of Christ.
