THREE THINGS TO REMEMBER

Pastor George looks back at three things that were said to him over the past thirty-three years and how they shaped his life as a Pastor. Of course, there have been many more things that were said to him over the years. but these three are very prominent for him and he says that they will apply to you too as you follow the Lord.
Be A Worshipper
Worship is an expression of awe, wonder, joy, and thanksgiving to God. It’s a sacred honor and privilege that only believers in God can truly participate in.
1Chronicles 16:29 Give to the LORD the glory due His name; bring an offering and come before Him. Oh, worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness!
Luke 4:8 Jesus answered and said to him, “Get behind Me, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.’”
Philippians 3:3 For we who worship by the Spirit of God are the ones who are truly circumcised. We rely on what Christ Jesus has done for us. We put no confidence in human effort
The Bible says that God has placed eternity in the human heart Ecclesiastes 3:11. This simply means that God has put within us a sense, an awareness, that there is more. There is a drive to bow down to something, to pay homage to something, to worship something.
Romans 1:20–21 NLT For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature… . Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks… . As a result, their minds became dark and confused.
God will work in you
Here’s one of my very favorite and comforting scriptures and as a matter of fact, it’s inscribed on the back side of one of the ceiling tiles right over the pulpit area.
Philippians 1:6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ
Love God & Love People
Matthew 22:37 Jesus said to him, you shall love the LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.
1John 4:11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
These are just three things that the Lord has spoken to me over the years, and I do believe that they apply to us all and they are things we should aspire to.
1 – Be a worshipper.
2 – Be confident that God is working IN and then He can do something through you.
3 – Love God and Love people.
