The Book of Acts gives us an extremely vivid picture of what Jesus designed His church to be. Today we’ll see this power and purpose God has for his people. We’ll see this plan unfold as God builds His church. We’ll see a boldness and a courage on display in the face of pressure and persecution, as lives are transformed by the power of the gospel.

In our section this morning, we’ll look at the first day of the church, where 120 gathered, with no lightshow, with no band, with no technology, with no money, with no proven leaders, with no remarkable strategy. All they had was the gospel, and the power of the Holy Spirit, and that was enough to change the world.

Today we’ll see that God’s church is a movement of people with supernatural power, emboldened to speak a name that has power to change the lives of everyone who hears.

Despite all of challenges that the church faces today, the Book of Acts reminds us all - these are not unprecedented times… it’s simply our time.
