Legacy: It’s what you leave when you leave. It’s what we pass on to future generations. Legacy is built now but experienced later. We’re sowing seeds today that our children will reap a harvest from in the future.

** Philippians 4:19 (NIV)** - And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

*Psalm 119:90 (AMP) *
Your faithfulness continues from generation to generation;
You have established the earth, and it stands [securely].

*Malachi 4:5-6 (NIV) *
“See, I will send the prophet Elijah to you before that great and dreadful day of the LORD comes. He will turn the hearts of the parents to their children, and the hearts of the children to their parents; or else I will come and strike the land with total destruction.”

** Psalm 78: 5-7 (NKJV) **
For He established a testimony in Jacob,
And appointed a law in Israel,
Which He commanded our fathers,
That they should make them known to their children;
That the generation to come might know them,
The children who would be born,
That they may arise and declare them to their children
That they may set their hope in God,
And not forget the works of God,
But keep His commandments;

Getting a generational vision for our lives changes culture!

Living for legacy starts in the families that God has given us.

What we do in the present, will affect the generations coming behind us.

** Numbers 14:18 (ESV)** - ‘The LORD is slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, forgiving iniquity and transgression, but he will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, to the third and the fourth generation.’

Sin is a wrong belief or action, but iniquity is an intentional twisting of sin.

** Deuteronomy 7:9 (NKJV)** - “Therefore know that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments;”

The Bible talks about children yet unborn, but it doesn’t say children yet unseen, because God sees the end from the beginning.

God tells Moses, “I am the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.”

“Honor your father and mother that it may go well with you.”

We put generational blessings in their proper place, as well as generational mistakes.

Forgiveness is the key in letting God redeem the past.

“May all who come behind us find us faithful, may the fire of our devotion light their way.” - *Steve Green *

It’s important to know the purposes of God in our generation.

“There is a mysterious cycle in human events. To some generations, much is given. Of other generations, much is expected. This generation has a rendezvous with destiny.
*-Franklin Delano Roosevelt *(5 Years Before Peal Harbor)

Isaiah 41:4 – Who has prepared and done this, calling forth the destinies of the generations.
God wants to pour out a double portion blessing on the next generation.

Romans 8:29 (ESV) - For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the FIRSTBORN among many brothers.

God’s heart is to set our children and grandchildren up with a greater advantage.
