1) It Was a Real Day
“For unto you is born this day …” (Luke 2:11).
2) It Was a Real City
“… in the city of David.”
3) A Savior Was Born
Matthew 1:23 Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son,
and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us).
1 John 4:9-10 In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. 10 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

And here is what the Angels said…
“Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is
Christ the Lord. Luke 2:10-11
Matthew 1
The angels explain what a savior is and why we need one.
Matthew 1:18-23 Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit. 19 And her husband Joseph, being a just man and unwilling to put her to shame, resolved to divorce her quietly. 20 But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” 22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet: 23 “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel”(which means, God with us).
Jesus is:
1) Sinless
Matthew 1:20b for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
2) Savior
Matthew 1:21 She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.
3) Suffering
Matthew 1:22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet:
Isaiah 53:2-6 For he grew up before him like a young plant, and like a root out of dry ground; he had no form or majesty that we should look at him, and no beauty that we should desire him.3 He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not.4 Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.5 But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities;
Isaiah 53:5b-6 upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
2 Corinthians 5:21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
