A YEAR OF PRAYER
A PRAYER TO STAND FIRM IN THE BATTLE
Standing firm in the battle with the full armor of God
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness.
15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; —Ephesians 6:10 - 15
THE CLEATS OF PEACE
And having shod your feet in preparation [to face the enemy with the firm-footed stability, the promptness, and the readiness produced by the good news] of the Gospel of peace. —Ephesians 6:15 (AMPC)
The courage to stand firm with the cleats of the Gospel of peace is only found in the power of the cross.
- Peace through the power of the cross
- Peace by position
- Peace with your past
- Peace without performance
- To stand firm with the cleats of the Gospel of peace is a choice we make.
15 And Moses built an altar and called its name, The-Lord-Is-My-Banner;
16 for he said, “Because the Lord has sworn: the Lord will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.” —Exodus 17:15 - 16
JEHOVAH NISSI: OUR BANNER AND OUR STANDARD “INSIGNIA”
“Insignia” defined:
Distinguishing marks of authority, office, or honor; badges; tokens; decorations; as, the insignia of royalty of of an order.
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. —Ephesians 6:12
14 Having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.
15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. —Colossians 2:14 - 15
1. Standing firm in the cleats of the Gospel of peace has a methodology.
The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you. —Philippians 4:9
Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! —Philippians 4:4
Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. —Philippians 4:5
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. —Philippians 4:6
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. —Philippians 4:7
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things arepure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. —Philippians 4:8
