“Do You Believe?”
March 28/29 | Red Letters: The Questions
John 11:26 (NLT)
Do you believe…?
No amount of doing can take the place of believing.
John 3:16 (NLT)
“For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:18 (NLT)
“There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him.”
John 3:36 (NLT)
…anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life.
Ephesians 2:8-9 (NLT)
God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done…
In the story of Lazarus, Martha tells Jesus, “If you had been here, our brother would not have died.”
In one sentence, Martha has told Jesus that she thinks there are two things more powerful than he is: time and death.
Just how powerful do you think Jesus is?
At what point does your faith in him
?
Did your faith in him stop three weeks ago?
John 11:21-27 (NLT)
Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if only you had been here, my brother would not have died. But even now I know that God will give you whatever you ask.” Jesus told her, “Your brother will rise again.” “Yes,” Martha said, “he will rise when everyone else rises, at the last day.” Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die. Do you believe this, Martha?” “Yes, Lord,” she told him. “I have always believed you are the Messiah, the Son of God, the one who has come into the world from God.”
John 11:39-40 (NLT)
“Roll the stone aside,” Jesus told them. But Martha, the dead man’s sister, protested, “Lord, he has been dead for four days. The smell will be terrible.” Jesus responded, “Didn’t I tell you that you would see God’s glory if you believe?”
Mark 9:22-24 (NLT)
“…Have mercy on us and help us, if you can.” “What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.” The father instantly cried out, “I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!”
Luke 22:32 (NIV)
I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail.
What are the things in your life that you feel are unfixable?
Matthew 28:18 (NIV)
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.”
Do you believe?
Jesus, I declare you are Lord. I declare you are Lord over heaven and Earth. I declare you are Lord over the coronavirus. I declare you are Lord over anything that’s worrying me today. I understand that my declaration doesn’t make you Lord—you are Lord already. I just want to go on record, adding my name and testifying to the truth!
Revelation 1:17-18 (NLT)
“Don’t be afraid! I am the First and the Last. I am the living one. I died, but look—I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and the grave.”
Let faith arise!
