INTRO: Do you have any ways you unconsciously categorize people to the left or the right?

READ: 1 Chronicles 4:9-10

DISCUSS
1. How would your daily life look different if you let go of looking at things through the left-right paradigm?
2. Can you relate to thinking of God’s blessing as though God was merely a genie? How do you think this sort of mistaken thinking can be corrected and resisted?
3. Have you ever thought that you were made for more? That your dreams are bigger than the life you are living?
4. Do you think of yourself as someone chosen by God to speak blessing over others who are living in a cursed world? If not, what step can you take to be ready to bless those around you?
5. Have you experienced a soothing word that blessed your spirit? a perverse tongue that crushed you? Have you seen that “one sentence can change someone’s life” (as Pastor Robert noted)?

PRAY:
Lord, it’s amazing to think that blessing is a part of your nature…that you - despite the curse of sin in this world - give us the gifts of flourishing and significance. May we enjoy your blessing with you and then seek to share words of blessing with those around us.
