Summer 2025 - Talking To God
June 29, 2025

Two Motivations To Pray

  1. To enter a relationship with God.
  2. Prayer is something we can learn.

To enter a relationship with God.

“But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.” —Luke 5:16 (NIV)

Why Jesus Prayed

  • To know God.
  • To know God’s will.
  • To do God’s will.

Prayer is something we can learn.

“Lord, teach us to pray.” —Luke 11:1

Nothing happens in the Kingdom of God unless it is preceded by prayer. —John Wesley

My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power. —1 Corinthians 2:4-5 (NIV)
