Series: Romans – Grasping The Gospel
Sermon Title: Part 31 – The Greatest Verse in the Bible (Part 3)
Scripture: Romans 8:28
Speaker: Pastor Mark Pospisil

Questions:

  1. Do you struggle in any way with knowing that God cares for you? How about providing for your needs? Why do you think it is that trusting Him during those times is such a struggle?

  2. What does God’s providence mean? How does Romans 8:28 assure us of this truth? How have you recently experienced His providence in your life?

  3. Read Isaiah 46:9-10. Why do you think God directs us to “remember the things of old?” Reflecting on your own life, what events or moments do you consider to be “the things of old?” How did God work in your “things of old?”

  4. How significant to you are the words “I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me?”

  5. The last statement God makes in Isaiah 46:10 is that He will accomplish all of His purpose. Keeping this in mind as you read Romans 8:28, who is the one who is actively working all things together for good? Why do you think this is significant?

  6. 1 Peter 5:7 says that we can cast all of our cares, our worries, upon God because He cares for us. How does knowing that God cares for you help you in praying?

  7. How does knowing the Lord’s providence encourage and stir us on to good works? In what ways is the Lord working in your life and where does He want you to step out in faith?
