Genesis 1:28
God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it. Rule the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, and every creature that crawls on the earth.”

Genesis 2:15
The Lord God took the man and placed him in the garden of Eden to work it and watch over it.

Exodus 19:16-19
On the third day, when morning came, there was thunder and lightning, a thick cloud on the mountain, and a very loud blast from a ram’s horn, so that all the people in the camp shuddered. Then Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet God, and they stood at the foot of the mountain. Mount Sinai was completely enveloped in smoke because the Lord came down on it in fire. Its smoke went up like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain shook violently. As the sound of the ram’s horn grew louder and louder, Moses spoke and God answered him in the thunder.

Exodus 20:24
[God said,] “Make an earthen altar for me, and sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, your flocks and herds. I will come to you and bless you in every place where I cause my name to be remembered.”

Exodus 40:34-35
The cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. Moses was unable to enter the tent of meeting because the cloud rested on it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.

1 Kings 8:10-13
When the priests came out of the holy place, the cloud filled the Lord’s temple, and because of the cloud, the priests were not able to continue ministering, for the glory of the Lord filled the temple.

Then Solomon said:

“The Lord said that he would dwell in total darkness.
I have indeed built an exalted temple for you,
a place for your dwelling forever.”

1 Kings 8:27, 30
“But will God indeed live on earth?
Even heaven, the highest heaven, cannot contain you,
much less this temple I have built.

Hear the petition of your servant
and your people Israel,
which they pray toward this place.
May you hear in your dwelling place in heaven.”

John 2:19-22
Jesus answered, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it up in three days.”

Therefore the Jews said, “This temple took forty-six years to build, and will you raise it up in three days?”

But he was speaking about the temple of his body. So when he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they believed the Scripture and the statement Jesus had made.

>> is the ultimate thin place.

Luke 17:21
[Jesus said,]”…you see, the kingdom of God is in your midst.”

Mark 1:35
Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he got up, went out, and made his way to a deserted place; and there he was praying.

Luke 5:16
…he often withdrew to deserted places and prayed.

If God is everywhere and “everywhen,” then why are some places thin and others not? Why isn’t the whole world thin? Maybe it is but we’re too thick to recognize it. Maybe thin places offer glimpses not of heaven but of earth as it really is, unencumbered. Unmasked.

1 Corinthians 3:16
Don’t you yourselves know that you are God’s temple and that the Spirit of God lives in you?
