Love Within the Church

Introduction:


I. that’s genuine, pure, and like family (Rom. 12:9-10)


“Love is selfless giving, with selflessness being the attitude and total giving the resultant action.”

“Love is self-giving for the sake of another.”


“In humility count others as more significant than yourselves”– Phil. 2:3


II. that’s zealous and Spirit-empowered (Rom. 12:11)


“You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.” – 1 Cor. 6:20


III. that’s fueled by future hope and constant prayer (Rom. 12:12)


“The sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.” – Rom. 8:18


“This light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison” – 2 Cor. 4:17


IV. that meets needs and welcomes strangers (Rom. 12:13)


“Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully” – 2 Cor. 9:6


“Each one must give as he has determined in his mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for the Lord loves a cheerful giver” – 2 Cor. 9:7


“It is more blessed to give than to receive” – Acts 20:35


“For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich – 2 Cor. 8:9


“Welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you” – Rom. 15:7
