Are You Ready?

Isaiah 66:1-24
I. Owner of All (vv. 1-2a)
A. God declares His

of all creation.
B. The heavens serve as His , showing His power and majesty.
C. The earth serves as his , the place to rest His feet.
D. How well do we , or manage, the resources God has placed in our control?
II. True Servants (v. 2b)
A. Humility is not thinking of ourselves, it is thinking of ourselves .
B. Placing our on God not us is the true path to joy and peace in life.
C. Contrite of heart: a life that is aware of our sin and experiences remorse and for those sins.
III. False Servants (vv. 3-6)
A. The “outwardly ” are those who make a show of their religiosity publicly, but whose private actions show a very different reality.
B. God declares this person is as bad as those who worship or break the dietary laws.
IV. It All Changes Quickly (vv. 7-11)
A. Using the metaphor of childbirth, God reminds us that the return of Jesus will come warning.
B. This is a reminder that we must be ready.
V. The King Is Coming (vv. 12-24)
A. The king’s return will be both a time of and a time of judgment.
B. Those who are prepared, the servants, will experience joy that is beyond description.
C. The false servants, the , will experience destruction that is also beyond description.


Jesus, the King, is coming. Are you prepared for His return?
