We must get the salt out of the salt shaker! But what is the salt? In Matthew 5, during the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus uses salt and light as metaphors for spreading the Good News that Jesus is redeeming and reconciling all creation back unto Himself. The Gospel is the salt. We must take the good news of redemption that we have internalized and spread it to all nations and peoples. But the question becomes, “Are you ashamed of the Gospel?”

The GOSPEL:

G - God

us to be with Him.
O - Our sin us from God.
S - Sin cannot be removed by .
P - Paying the price for sin, Jesus died and again.
E - Everyone who in Him alone has eternal life.
L - Life with Jesus and lasts forever.

Guilt and Shame

Guilt is

in nature.
Shame is in nature.

The Cross

In the forgiveness of sins,

, and righteousness is restored.
In the forgiveness of sins, , and the Gospel advances.
