Sermon Notes
Demonstrating the Love of Christ!
John 13:31-35
31 When he had gone out, Jesus said, “Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in Him. 32 If God is glorified in Him, God will also glorify Him in Himself, and glorify Him at once. 33 Little children, yet a little while I am with you. You will seek me, and just as I said to the Jews, so now I also say to you, ‘Where I am going you cannot come.’ 34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35 By this all people will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
“31 …Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God glorified in Him”
“12 Men of Israel, why do you wonder at this, or why do you stare at us, as though by our own power or godliness we have made him walk? 13 The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified his servant Jesus, whom you delivered over and denied in the presence of Pilate…” (Acts 3:12-13)
Jesus’s death by crucifixion affirms the holiness of God!
“For you are not a God who delights in wickedness; evil cannot dwell with You.” (Psalm 5:4)
“Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, because it is written, Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.” (Galatians 3:13)
